International human rights organization based in New York, United States, Human Rights Watch (HRW) condemned the arrests of demonstrators.
Malaysian citizens were protesting the arrest. "Why the government is trying to intimidate people?" Manij Mohamad Abdullah asked , a 50-year-old man who participated in the demo.
"We're just trying to reform the electoral and governing a free and fair," he added.
